Elliott Lewis’ Airlift at Academy House Video

Elliott Lewis can efficiently execute complicated mechanical construction projects like this one. The operation required several weeks of preparation, including several meetings with the Philadelphia Police Department and notification of all the business and residences within a three-block radius of the Academy house. Police shut down the surrounding streets at 6:45 AM to allow Elliott Lewis to replace the chiller on top of Academy House, located behind the Academy of Music at Broad and Locust Streets. Partnering with its in-house affiliate, Sautter Cranes, and Construction Helicopters, Elliott Lewis removed the existing chiller from the roof of the Academy House and lowered the removed chiller to a Sautter Crane tractor trailer waiting below. Upper floor residents were treated to breakfast on a lower level of Academy House during the lift. By 7:30, life on one of the busiest sections of Broad Street was back to normal.
